Lakewood Shores in Oscoda
Iosco County Michigan
Lakewood Shores Golf and Country Club; Michigan's fastest growing resort community
Set amidst the peaceful and serene coast of Lake Huron and the Huron National Forest of northeast lower Michigan is Lakewood Shores Resort, a truly family oriented golf resort offering 56 holes of nationally acclaimed golf, along with an unique 18 hole pitch and putt course the entire family can enjoy, just minutes from Oscoda.
Lakewood Shores Resort brings together three unique golf experiences not found anywhere else in Northern Michigan. Whether it's the feel of the famed seaside courses in Scotland on the Gailes, the rugged classical Pine Valley C.C. feel of Blackshire course, or the parkland layout of the Serradella bursting with floral gardens, golfers will enjoy the spirit of the game at Lakewood Shores Resort.
Golf Digest rated The Gailes, 'The Best New Resort Course in the United States' in 1993, and in 1996 rated it 'The Number One Public and Resort Course in the State of Michigan'. Designed to recreate the actual look of the famed seaside courses of Scotland, you'll encounter large double green, meandering burns and long fescue grasses. So if you have never had the opportunity to play golf in Scotland, but have always dreamed of doing so, you need only to head to Lakewood Shores Resort.
The newest course at Lakewood Shores, the Blackshire, just opened in June of 2001. This course was designed to recreate the look and feel of the famous Pine Valley Country Club. Although not a replica, it offers a similar rugged feel with hardwoods, large sand waste areas, and undulating greens.
The Serradella offers the perfect resort course to complement the other championship designs. A classic parkland design with minimal hazards, wide fairways and large greens. Numerous floral gardens planted on this course will take your breath away.
Parents and kids alike love the Wee Links, the 18 hole pitch & putt course designed specifically with families in mind. Featuring holes ranging from 30 to 100 yards, The Wee Links gives kids an opportunity to enjoy some real success at golf!
Lakewood Shores Resort not only offers great golf, but wonderful accommodations, meeting facilities and excellent cuisine. Living at Lakewood Shores gives you access to the exquisite natural beauty and unparalleled amenities of the Resort and Lakewood Shores Beach Club.
Dining facilities include the main dining room which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Scotland Cove, the 19th hole, serves soup, sandwiches and quick snacks for making the turn. The lounge offers a relaxed atmosphere to kick back after a round, and a banquet room is available for larger groups, meetings or special events.
In addition to onsite-golf, Lakewood Shores offers access to a private beach on Cedar Lake perfect for swimming, jet skiing, canoeing and fishing; a private park and beach on Lake Huron, perfect for picnics, parties, sunbathing and swimming; an outdoor heated pool; charter fishing and swimming on Lake Huron; Racquet Club with Tennis Courts; picnic areas with a Pavilion, basketball court, baseball field.
